| Natural
Driftwood Sculptures was established over 10 years ago in Canada
and the UK. In 1998 Colin Harding visited his sister, Alison
in Canada and saw how she had incorporated pieces of driftwood,
as sculptures into her traditional English garden, which she
had collected from the shore of a nearby lake. Colin, a keen
gardener, was so taken with the effect of the driftwood that
he decided to bring some back to the UK, a whole 20ft container
load! |
| Within
the space of a couple of months every last piece of driftwood
had been sold. Colin and his son Magnus knew the sculptures
would be popular but they had not realised that they would
be such a hit. There was such a demand for the unusual and
striking sculptures that they soon made arrangements for another
container load and so Natural Driftwood Sculptures Ltd was
born. |
Today
the company remains a family run organisation.
|
| The
area from which our sculptures are collected is a rich mix of
forest, tranquil lake waters and majestic mountainsides, typical
of idyllic British Colombia in Canada. We have gathered together
a few pictures in our gallery
section to give you an idea of this ... |
| Wholesale
rather than Retail |
| Due
to the retirement of our Canadian partners we are no longer
collecting and importing our sculptures for the retail market
in Europe. We are, however, continuing to collect and deliver
to the wholesale market. Please
contact us by email if you wish to discuss importing
driftwood sculptures in volume. |

SmartWood
Rediscovered is a "chain-of-custody certification"
awarded by SmartWood, who are part of the Rainforest Alliance.
The programme was developed to certify reused, reclaimed,
recycled and salvaged wood products. NDS conducts its business
practices in compliance with SmartWood's standards for ecological
preservation in the area we collect our sculptures from. |
We
have always been an environmentally conscientious company.
Only sculptures collected by NDS bear our unique metal tag
ensuring that these rare natural sculptures have been collected
and transported under the strict environmental and conservation
guidelines demanded by the SmartWood programme. Since we ceased
collecting sculptures for the retail market in mid-2008, we
have decided not to renew our certificate. However we continue
to support this valuable initiative, further information on
which is available on the Rainforest
Alliance website. |
